My Grandma's Recipe......Tenga dia Bhendi (Sour Okra/Ladies Finger)




Ingredients:

  1. 200 grm Bhendi (Okra/Ladies Finger)
  2. 3-4 pieces of thekera( kokum), soaked in water for an hour (you can use Lemon juice also)
  3. 1 tsp Mustard Oil
  4. 1 tsp mustard seed
  5. 1 whole chilly
  6. 1 pinch of turmeric powder
  7. Salt to taste


Method:
  1. Wash bhendi and let it dry completely.
  2. Now cut them into halves lengthwise
  3. In a pan, heat the mustard oil and add 1 tbs mustard seeds, turmeric powder, chilly and salt according to your taste.
  4. Add Bhendi Pieces and fry them for 2-3 minutes
  5. Now Add Thekera pieces along with the water and simmer for 5 minutes.
  6. Stir occasionally and cook for 2-3 minutes .
  7. Finally, it is ready to serve with rice.
